Viewer Question: "Particularly during this dark time, when plagues of all kinds are gaining the upper hand, we often hear: 'Where is God? Why does He leave us alone in our need and troubles?' As Original Christians, what do you have to say about this?"

Andrea:God is a faithful and caring Father. His Spirit is in all of us, in every person and in every being. And in you, too. Also in you, dear brother, dear sister, in the Spirit of our eternal Father. God never forsakes us, His children. God did not merely give us the Ten Commandments through Moses 3500 years ago. At all times, God, the infinitely eternal power, sent us prophets and enlightened men and women. And above all, He spoke through Jesus, His Son, the greatest prophet of all time. Jesus said to His disciples: “I will send you the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, who will guide you into all truth.” Whereby, “all truth” means, of course: insofar as we human beings can understand it in our language.

We live in a great turn of time, and we know: Your kingdom comes, O Lord, and Your will is done, O Father! It is our kingdom! – This is how the Original Christians think and live, step-by-step according to this principle of life: “Your kingdom comes, Your will is done.” But what Jesus announced to us, the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, He has made come true. He has come to us in His word.

Jesus personified the prophetic Spirit, for He said: “My Father and I are one.” And so, Jesus, the Son of Man, drew from the infinitely eternal source and spoke mightily as the most unique prophet in all the history of mankind. He personified the prophetic spirit, so to speak, and on the cross He became our Redeemer.”

Martin: “We should bear in mind that from the time John the Baptist baptized Jesus in the River Jordan and Jesus began to teach, until His capture at the hands of Pilate’s soldiers, Jesus had only three years left. At that time, there were no means of travel, no distant lands to visit, no microphones or loudspeakers for addressing great crowds, and no means through which His teachings could be published for many people.

To address the people, Jesus climbed, as it says in the Bible, “on a hill.” How far could His voice have reached? His listeners were primarily people who could neither read nor write, so they couldn’t take notes. It wasn’t the scribes and Pharisees that Jesus spoke to.

He spoke to the simplest people, and He did it in His mother tongue, Aramaic, and not in Hebrew or Greek, which were the world languages at that time, or even in Latin.

Everything that institutional Christianity knows about the teachings of Jesus, the Christ, is based on what has been passed down orally and was spread over generations, because it was about 90 years after the physical death of Jesus that the first written documents about Jesus’ life on earth and His teachings were recorded.”

Matthias: “Well, you said 90 years, that is almost 3 generations. Let’s just imagine that we should report about a person we knew many years ago, but didn’t take any notes on. How close to the truth would our report be? And how strongly would it differ from the report of another contemporary who perhaps has entirely different memories of this person, and who remembers different characteristics of this person, different statements by him than we do?

So, there actually were an abundance of reports about Jesus in the early times of Christianity, and in part they diverge greatly from each other. So, how much of the original truth remained in these very first gospels that were passed-down?”
